Wall Types How We Build Our Work FAQ Financing Free Estimate

We Don't Offer In-House Financing

We're a retaining wall company, not a lender, so we don't offer financing ourselves and we don't arrange loans. That said, a lot of homeowners would rather spread the cost of a wall over time than pay for it all at once — especially when a failing wall or a washing-out bank can't wait.

The most common way to do that is a home improvement loan. One option we recommend looking at is LightStream, the online lending division of Truist Bank, which offers home improvement and pool loans you can apply for online.

What the Example Shows

The rate table on this page is a screenshot from LightStream's website for a $25,000 home improvement/pool loan. It lists six repayment terms side by side:

  • 36 months at 9.99% APR — about $807 a month
  • 60 months at 10.09% APR — about $532 a month
  • 120 months at 10.89% APR — about $343 a month
  • 144 months at 10.89% APR — about $312 a month

Those payments assume AutoPay and excellent credit. LightStream's own note on the page puts the rate range at 9.99% to 21.09% APR, with your exact rate set by your credit profile. A shorter term means a bigger monthly payment but less interest paid overall; a longer term lowers the payment but costs more in total.

Rates change, so treat the example as a guide to how the options compare, not as the rate you'll get.

How to Use It for Your Wall

  • Get your free written estimate. We walk the site, measure, and give you an itemized price for the wall, base, drainage and any removal.
  • Check your rate. Use the estimate total to see what LightStream offers you — and compare it with your bank or credit union.
  • Pick a term that fits your budget. Look at the monthly payment and the total cost, not just one or the other.
  • Schedule the build. Once your funding is in place, we put your wall on the calendar.

Foothills Retaining Wall Company is not a lender and does not offer, arrange or guarantee financing. LightStream is a separate company; all loan decisions, rates and terms are set by LightStream and may change at any time. The rate example shown is a screenshot from lightstream.com taken in October 2026 for illustration only and is not a quote or an offer of credit.

Financing Questions

Paying for a Retaining Wall:
Common Questions

Do you offer financing for retaining walls?

No. We build retaining walls; we aren't a lender, and we don't offer in-house financing or arrange loans. Many homeowners pay for a wall with a home improvement loan from a bank, credit union or online lender. LightStream is one option we recommend looking at.

Can I use a home improvement loan for a retaining wall?

In most cases, yes — a retaining wall is a permanent improvement to your property. LightStream offers home improvement and pool loans, and the example on this page is one of them. Check with the lender on how they classify your project before you apply.

How much should I apply for?

Start with our free written estimate. It itemizes the wall, base, drainage and any removal, so you know the full project cost before you check rates. Call (828) 471-7706 to set up a visit.

Do I have to use LightStream?

No. LightStream is simply an option we point people to. You're free to use any lender, a home equity line, savings or any other way of paying that works for you. Loan approvals, rates and terms always come from the lender, not from us.
